Can you please advise how after completing our IVA in May 12 we are still unable to remortgage away from Northern Rock Asset Management.
I changed my bank account to a full bank account with Barcleys away from a basic account with nationwide as they wouldnot help but Barcleys advised that Barcleys bank rules are you must be discharged for 6 yesrs before they can help.
Will this be the same for all banks and am I stuck paying nearly 5% when better deals are out at other lenders. What can we do?.

Hi manmountain - it might be worth contacting the mortgage experts on here to understand how other banks are handling clients post IVA. You can find them on ASk experts a question to the left.

Contact any whole of market broker and be upfront about the iva. They really are best placed to advise on securing mortgages for those of us with a colourful credit history! !
