I have looked at my credit file and there is no showing of my IVA on Experian and Equifax . do banks look in to credit files differently then I do.

There are three CR's to check sometimes defaults don't show, but not heard of IVA not showing. My biggist creditor didn't show. If you have a very low credit score then it's there on one of them
I don't think the banks have there own lists either as it's possible to obatin a regualr mortgage post IVA

Just google the insolvency registar and type your name in it. If at your old address that'll make for a interesting thread!

All your debts outstanding or settled should be on the file, that is the whole idea of a credit file and be in control of wrongful entries and be alerted to fraud, if you are in an iva there should be a public notice in the file....if not you need to find out why.I am with experian credit expert on their subscription service, and my iva was registered 6 years ago.
Speak to your IP.

Hi
I believe that banks etc can pay a premium and look back further than the traditional six years if they want to, this may just be the insolvency register rather than credit files though.

I've had a secured loan for 7 years, its never been reported on any of the 3 CRAs, pity it might improve my credit score post iva.

I've had a FlexAccount with Nationwide for 12 years which has never shown on any of my credit files.

I'm not so sure about another list, I going to say thats an IVA.co.uk myth.
So it would appear to me it's the address that is black listed not the person and that would make sense there are as they say many John Smiths, it's the address that seperates them.So could it be as simple as that got and IVA then just move?

Surely if the address was blacklisted though anyone else living there would have problems?

It could be but of course anyone changing addresses should inform their IP and also an IVA should be registered at the current residential address. It does show how things that slip through the net though and leave some inconsistency on how IVAs affect individuals.

All the bank has to do is to ask you have you been in an iva and/or bankrupt...they do not even need the credit file.If you say 'No' that is fraud and the mortgage offer is turned down and fraud alerted on your credit file. The banks know everything as they share information on people.
Tell your IP and get the IVA registration record straight. We are responsible to ensure our files are accurate like on the wages slip.No exceptions. It is called been honest.
