Hi all,

Do any of the experts have any views on the new mis selling scandal? Identity Protection? I know I have had it in the past and it was set up as a recurring payment on my card not a DD or anything...

With a sinking heart I have just read about it on the mail on line. Apparantly the banks are supposed to get in touch with the customer in the next couple of months. I can see this turning into another tit and arse party.

It will be interesting to see how the new CPP misselling claims procedure pans out, if you are concerned speak to your own IPs but as the sums will be miniscule in comparison to PPI claims I do not believe it will affect closures in the same way.

I guess its watch this space for the time being...

I had 'sentinel' insurance with my CC and Lloyds account for ID fraud protection, is this what they are going on about. If so I hope any remit I may get is <£500.00.

You will probably find it will be classed as a windfall under the 10% 50/50 guide and they will claw some back from you...

I don't think there will ever be cases of IVA's being miss sold as most IVA's end up paying back less than the original debt, other miss selling claims involve making payments which you did not have to make, they never saved you money..

As for being miss led into entering into an IVA or being miss led when signing up for some IP nominated third party to make PPI claims for you then that is a different matter..

I have my own personal gripes around the advice we were given when we signed up and I may have gripes about my IP and their total incompetence but I have no problem at all with saving thousands of £'s....

Windfalls are not subject to the 10-50-50 rule just overtime or wage related bonus'. You would need to check your own T&C's.

Got a letter off CCP this morning saying they have been 'advised' by the FSA to inform me they may have miss sold card protection and/or ID theft protection. No forms but 4 or 5 annexes of what is going to happen next, will get round to reading it while her-in-doors is watching Corrie or Dead Enders..
