Hi,

This is the first time I've been on this forum and I'm only a few months into my IVA and struggling to get to grips with it tbh. Today I went to renew my car insurance with Aviva and wanted to pay monthly, they declined to offer me this option. Does anyone have any suggestions as to insurers who will allow me to pay monthly?

Thanks in advance,

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm with hastings direct. Some do decline those of us in IVA's I'm afraid, I'm sure others will be along soon to advise who to try.

I think I went through quidco and claimed some cashback at the same time. It' might be worth a look.

Hi, I've just renewed and moved from Admiral to Budget and no problems with paying monthly.

Aviva credit search/check you when you do the quote and won't offer monthly payments if you are in an IVA. This is the first time I have had to renew car insurance in an IVA - stayed with same insurer for house insurance as I couldn't be bothered trying to find someone who would offer monthly payments and the renewal quote wasn't that bad anyway.

We are with swift - no problem with monthly payments and also just moved house insurance to them yesterday and pay monthly for both. Give them a go Quote is usually cheaper with them rather than the comparison sites. Never made a claim with them but have helped me get through my IVA with cheap payments x

Note of caution -- a lot of the comparison sites will reject you automatically on the grounds of the IVA, whereas the individual insurance companies might accept you --- going direct does also often get a cheaper quote as they are not paying a cut to the comparison site.

The reason that you were declined is because the monthly payments are set up as a credit agreement through a third party. Hence the APR
