Can I really be this lucky?, I made my final payment in Feb 2012, got my CC around aug this year, so I sent away to get the Equifax/Experian/call credit to start the process of clearing my credit file, now my IVA was registered at my then address in sunderland, I moved to Glasgow about a year in, so the default CCJ's etc would have been at the sunderland address. On all the searches I put my Glasgow address in as current and the sunderland address in as a previous address. Got all the reports back expecting a long hard slog but I can't see any details of the IVA on my credit reports, only thing showing is a credit card I took out after the IVA help build up my credit rating (I pay it off every month), my mobile phone, and my aa membership, no CCJ's default of any bad debts show?, on Experian I get a good credit and score over 900, can this be correct?, I know defaults ccj's etc come off after 6 years but most other threads seem to say they hang about longer am I missing something?? or have I just been lucky??

No they come off at the sixth anniversary so it appears you are in deed in the clear.

You're very lucky, scooby, I'm still on the Insolvency register, the NatWest keep defaulting my old current account despite having already written to them.I had hoped that it would all drop off after 6 years but obviously I'm going to have to do some work.

I've emailed the final report & completion certs to experian to to start cleaning up our credit files. On my husbands file we have had one of the creditors marking the account up ( through the whole term of the iva) as "6" payments late. Then they put it into default on the 28/06/13. Urgh- You feel like they've done it deliberately just to make life awkward!! Just waiting on experian to sort it out- but they have already chased up a couple of accounts to be marked up as satisfied so it is well worth getting in touch with them.

I had this problem with Natwest, IVA completed, CC in my hand, account open and monthly defaults for life of IVA and since, I'd written to them/data controller twice, called them. Everyone else edited info so it was correct. I suggest you do as I did and contact Financial Ombudsman Service, South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London, E14 9SR.
Took them 3 months but they sorted Natwest out for me

Now "Closed" and Marked "Satisfied" "£0" due.
