I have now received my completion paperwork, however my surname is incorrectly spelt on all of it. I have asked for a replacement but communication with the IVA company is extremely slow so this could take a while. My IVA apparently completed nearly a month before I received the paperwork, I have checked the insolvency register and I am still on there and the IVA is still on my credit reports. My question will the insolvency register update with the incorrect spelling and will the credit reference agencies accept my completion paperwork with the misspelling or do I need to wait for replacement documents to start the process. I wasn't sure if the insolvency register was updated with case numbers or names. I can't say I'm surprised by this current turn of events, sums up the last year really.

Hi

As long as they remove you from the insolvency register then all is ok, you have to wonder if this will be done if your name is spelt wrong.

I would leave the six year rule to remove details of your IVA from your credit file

Thank you for your reply, It is already well past the 6 years and the IVA is still on my credit file.

Hi

I think until it is off the register it will show on your credit file under the public information section, once your details are off the Insolvency Register then there should be no record of your IVA on your credit file

But will my name come off the register without further intervention from my IP.

Hi louiseh

I would be emailing my IP constantly to get this sorted as a matter of urgency! Your IVA is complete, you have the Completion Documents and you have certainly waited long enough to be where you are now.

I would also contact the Insolvency Service direct and explain the situation and get further advice from them.

Until you are off the Register I wouldn't bother with the Credit Reference Agencies. We were on there well into our 7th year (even though we are constantly told the record drops off after 6 years).

The most important thing is to get off the Insolvency Register.

I can understand your frustration. This really is poor
but not at all surprising if my experience is anything to go by.

Keep on top of this until it is sorted. You deserve it!

You're right it is frustrating. Finding out everthing was completed and closed 3 weeks after the fact, forgot to mail me the documents, and when they do they're wrong. Surprised no, frustrated yes, still doesn't feel like it's over and can't move on with my life. Well still waiting for a response from closures.

Email them everyday (I used to send 2 daily), then I started to email my IP and coincidence or not after one email to him I received the information I had been after for some weeks.

I am sure that your documents will need to be spelt correctly and this needs to be sorted with immediate effect.

Don't forget to contact the Insolvency Service as well. Make a nuisance of yourself... they will soon want to get rid of you!
