Hi All

I saw a post about CRB/DBS on he forum but can't seem to find it now. Just for clarity I work in HR/Personnel and do CRB daily there is no financial information returned on these other than fraud or theft that would have police involvement. The new system of DBS only sends a copy to the applicant and not the employer so the employee can dispute any information on it before the employer sees it so you will know what ever is being disclosed.

On another note an employer can not just ask you to do a CRB, they need to follow the DBS guidelines in relation when a repeat can be done and at what level ie enhanced vulnerable adult or children.

Hope this helps [8D]

Hi Mab,

A great post and reassurance for those who worry about a CRB (DBS) . Just an added note, employers should have updated their T&C's so employees must supply copy of the DBS within a time period. As you rightly say, a credit check does not form part of the DBS.

I have a regular enhanced CRB/DBS and never has it been an issue as I teach...but worth others knowing.

I have an enhanced CRB and will sign up to the DBS database when my check is due for renewal.

The recent changes have not made any great impact yet in my opinion, but will to individuals who have to fund their own DBS.

For additional information, an IVA will not affect prison clearance either.

Luckily I don't have to fund my own.
