So after all the advice I've been given from both my IP and the people on this forum I decided to go ahead with my IVA - Yesterday I signed the paper work and sent it back.
I received an email today letting me know that my meeting of creditors is on the 13/02/14.
Now it's a waiting game... I'm really quite nervous about the whole thing however if my IVA gets the all go it will be amazing to know there is an end to all of the worry and upset.

It's coming up to a year since I was in your position so I know how you are feeling, I wish I could explain the difference that year has made. I feel so much better than I have for years and wish I had done the IVA years ago. Good luck on 13th xx

Don't worry, once it's approved you'll feel relief, just as I did.

Good luck John & Notscared.
Not sure which companies you are with but with certain companies you can be assured your IVA will be approved or they wouldn't put the proposal forward.
It is a daunting time waiting to hear if you have been accepted or not but you just have to have faith in your Company.
I always viewed my IVA as a longterm loan that I was repaying and athough 5/6 years is a longtime, in reality its no longer than what you'd actually pay for a standard loan. In fact if I could of ever repaid my loans without an IVA the 5/6 years would of paled into insignificance as I would imagine with my level of debt (close to £150k at outset), it would of taken 20/30 years at a minimum and thats without interest.
Anyway good luck..Im sure you'll be fine...when it does come the relief is indescribable!

Good luck John, The 13th of Feb is a good date! That is is the date in 2012 that my IVA meeting was (and approved).
Like others have said, your'e IVA Co wouldn't put it forward if they didn't think they would succeed!
All the best!

Best of luck John. I was in your position 3 years ago and all went through fine. My IVA practitioner were excellent and reassuring which was great. I must also say that I credit this forum for retaining my sanity in them early days.
My best advice is keep positive and if you ever get worried or need cheering up then there are some fantastic people on here that will do that for you.
Good luck
