Thought I would return to these hallowed pages after a break, and what better way than to have rant!!!

Rant One - b***** IVA costing me a job!! Same old story, Boy goes through four interviews for job, Boy gets job, boy gets job offer retracted once background checks were completed. As I explained, it had no impact on my professional integrity or ability to do the job, but it still cut no ice!!

Rant Two - b***** Car costing a fortune!!! The past two weeks has cost me £900 in repairs, which I have managed to pay for using a bonus I got at Christmas (which was due to be paid into my IVA in June annual review time), and some MEGA scrimping. And it's still knackered!!!

I know these things happen, but my patience is being tested right now!!

Rant over. For now!

This site is useful for many things. One of those is letting loose with a mega-rant!!!

Employers can be so stupid/ignorant when it comes to jobs and insolvencies.

And cars, well cars are great when they work and b######## when they dont!!

Sympathies.

I was thinking - in my Annual review I will be due to pay in some bonus money from Christmas - only about £150 - If I can demonstrate that I have used this for essential car repairs, will they insist in it still being paid into the IVA?

They prefer things like this to be agreed beforehand -- but timing isn't always on our side. Hopefully they will be sympathetic.

It is good to be able to vent anger on the forum, when perhaps you have no other funnel for this. Employers can be very short sighted when it comes to using debt issues as a pre-selector for declining employment, however employers exercise choice for all sorts of reasons and this is something that is unfortunately out of your control.

What industry/profession are you actually in?

Frustrating times ..... Employers need to recognise it isn't those in IVAs they should be concerned about .... People in IVAs have sought help and support to clear their debts, learning budgetary skills ...the likelihood is they are the safer bet !
