Thank you, to this forum and all its valued members, to Melanie Giles for helping to get me to debt freedom and all her wonderful staff that endured phone calls from me when I felt down.

I made 60 monthly payments into my IVA, not always easy going but I made it in the end. I spent a few months (minimal time) waiting for my completion certificate, elated at receiving that and then another few months waiting for the 6 year mark. That eventually arrived and I cleaned up our credit files.

Today I test drove a car, I applied for high street finance, I was accepted for finance and will have a fresh car next week. I am so happy and without the help of Melanie and the forum members who guided and supported me though all kinds of traumas in the IVA and finally giving me advice on how to clear up the credit files (Melanie's website very helpful for this).

I would just like to say to all those at whatever stage of your IVA, hang in there it does end and life does go on. Now to finish renovating this house, sell it and move into rented accommodation somewhere nice and quiet.

Excellent news on the car front Lesley --- as my daughter's friends would say ..."well Jel"

Shows there is life after an IVA and gives us all hope.

So pleased to hear that Lesley. You don't know how gratifying it is as an IP to read these success stories, and it really does make this job very worthwhile. You must now truly believe that you have put those very dark days behind you, and it is great that we have been able to play a little part in your journey.

Thank you for sharing this, Lesley. As someone who is just starting out it is lovely to read that there IS light at the end of what appears, at the moment, to be an extremely long tunnel. It must feel amazing and posts like yours spur people like me onwards.

Brilliant news Lesley and well deserved. Your own advice has been invaluable to others on this forum so it has not been a 'one way street'..

Hi

Fantastic post Lesley

You are a valued forum expert and I hope you continue to post even though you are debt free and back in main stream lending

Another very happy Mel Giles client !!

We must remind ourselves how brilliant an IVA can be in the correct circumstances, Lesley, myself and many others are proof that life can be very good post IVA and credit ratings can be restored

Regards

Thank you all and I'll be continuing to post.

I used to love reading positive posts too and that inspired me to write mine.

Looking forward to the car next week, not had a fresh car since 2003!
