Hi all,
I have finally, after 15 months from my last payment, today received my completion certificate (dated 25th April) from Debt Free Direct.

My question is how long will it take to filter onto my credit records? I am assuming it will be a few weeks at least before the public record is removed from the files? The IVA was over 5 years but with the delay in completion the actual start date was over 6 years ago. Am I right in thinking this will 'fall off' my credit files once they are updated.

Thank you for any help.

Hi and well done. As long as the defaults are correctly dated then all trace of the IVA should fall off the Credit Reference Agencies files within a few weeks. For some background have a look here:

It can take up to three months (from the 25th April) for it to be taken off of the Insolvency Register, but will be marked as completed in the meantime.

That's pretty much the size of it, one of the three can't remember which equifax or experian may put your IVA out of public record into the NOC section of your credit report, you'll need to phone them (the UK call centre) and they'll clear it on the spot. Get a copy of all three CR's, callcredit were awkward with the £2 one,I seem to remember I'm not sure if that's still the case? Noddle take at least one clear month to update

And good for you on CC

Oh I forgot that bit but marked completed or not whilst that pesky IVA is there best avoid looking at credit, but once all gone it's a different story if you feel the need. I kept my cash card from nationwide for two years after the six, they then gave me no choice and had to take a flex account
