Your name will come off the insolvency register within three months of the IVA closing and your credit file should be cleared up six years after the IVA commenced. Well done on completing the IVA and in just over a year no one should know you were ever in an IVA.

Sometimes you have to chase creditors along a little at the end of an IVA to update the credit files, as they can be a bit tardy. In my practice we provide guidelines to our clients, and sample letters for them to use to effect this as quickly as possible. Happy to share theses with any forum poster who would like to drop me an e-mail.

Hi all. I am in the same position as PM123 but am finishing IVA in September. Quick question please?
Is it worth trying to improve your credit score before the IVA comes off after 6 years? Can you improve it significantly while the IVA is still showing? I would be interested in hearing how long it takes to improve this if anyone has any experience with it?
