An IVA stays on your credit file for 6 years from date of acceptance. Welcome to the forum.

You can apply whenever you want once you have completed an IVA, however you will struggle to get accepted as the IVA is still on file (as per above post).
It's your business of course but do you really want a credit card after being in an IVA? I for one, will never have one again, its what got me in the mess the first time. Even starting small with one card is just getting back on the slippery slope in my humble opinion.

Hi Bob and Gill,
I would try for the Vanquis credit card initially as they are more likely than anybody else to offer you one at this stage as I know plenty of people on here who even are still in an iva have been accepted. The only thing I would say is that if you don't pay the balance every month then the interest is very high but its a start.
and remember too many searches on your credit file over a twelve month period can do more harm than good on your credit file.
let us know how you get on!.

I assume you can apply for a credit card (even when in an IVA). I guess it would only be a breach if you used it whilst in an IVA without the permission of your IP?

A lot of my ex-clients have managed to get good credit facilities once their IVAs have concluded. Best of luck with this - but careful spending!!
