Can I work as a car sales executive with an IVA?

I have been offered a job in car sales as find myself unemployed and am 3 years into an IVA. They have now said they will run a credit check and I am now worried as I believe the role is FCA regulated due to the sale of car finance etc. I'm worried they will now retract their offer

If they are going to do a credit check they will discover the IVA, so it would possibly be best to be one step ahead and tell them. They will appreciate your honesty and the IVA might not be a bar. If it will be a bar, it's better not to waste everyone's time and to get your hopes up.

I think this will apply to all car sales roles Foggy and I'm struggling to find another job. My husbands salary will not cover our mortgage and bills

I would just go for it and be upfront --- as I understand it not all regulated roles are barred because of an IVA (but possibly all will require disclosure). At least you will know, one way or another.
