I have an IVA, opened a Bank with Co-op.

Interested in switching to an account with Tesco (because you get Clubcard points), but first is anyone aware if TESCO accept people with IVA's?

Saves me making a phone call if anyone on here knows.

Just one of their current accounts. We were told only a few banks accept people with IVA's & Co-op was one of them, so we opened one with them.

Not sure which bank Tesco are with for their accounts. Do you not like the Co-op? I don't think I would swap from them even with the negative press they've had.

Hi, I looked at the T&C's for the Tesco Bank account and there is something in there about entering into arrangement with creditors (ie IVA) could lead to closure of account so I wouldn't bother applying - it's not worth the hassle. If Natwest isn't one of your creditors, I would recommend their Basic Account which can be upgraded to a cheque account (no fees). We have been with them since just before our IVA's (nearly 2 years now)and apart from being restricted to Natwest/RBS ATM's, although I believe this is being dropped at the end of the year, we are very happy with them. It's easy to set up standing orders and payments to other people and you can have savings accounts/ISA with them as well and all will show on one screen- I use the savings accounts to put money aside for car tax, husband's tax bill etc. Only quirk is that they take out all Monday direct debits/payments/standing orders on a Saturday but as long as you are aware of this, you can make sure there is enough money in there to cover them.

Ok thanks esgt1967. I'll stick with Co-op then.
It was just I heard you could get Clubcard points if you bank with TESCO and I had been having issues with the way Co-op update my balance.

Since found out my issues arose from paying for petrol at the pump... it pre auths an amount but doesn't truly take it off your available balance straight away (even though it kind of does).

Tescos Bank is owned wholly by tesco plc.
I would also call Tescos bank and ask if you can open the account with the iva record or just try it.Just to be sure...

Their T.C doesn't quite say NO....

A great package they offer and c.card points
