Many IPs do allow such schemes, as long as it can be afforded without reduction of the IVA payment. As for Payplan I do not know and you would have to run it past them.

We were able to take out a lease mid iva. Cleardebt reduced our payment by 15% which I believe that all IPs can do.

I was with PayPlan and after a year into my IVA leased a car through work. All PayPlan said was that as long as it didn't affect my payment, it would be OK. I got this in writing from them so please be sure to do so.

............only if it allowed for in the arrangement and, even then, this is discretionary and by no means guaranteed.

I guess we were lucky then as there's no way we could have found the money from savings elsewhere and certainly no way we could have come up with money to purchase a car.

As has been said many times on this forum, the choice of company and IP is critical. The past 5.5 years have been the hardest of our lives but we have come through with the help of this forum and a great company.

You are so right, Relieved33. The choice of company is critical. Unfortunately many people are simply referred by a lender or CAB and just "go with it".
