I finished my IVA five years ago and at that time no one had heard of PPI and I was wondering if I was to try to see if I was entitled to any monies would it still be paid into my old IVA ? Also if I was to claim would I also be charged by the PPI company if I used them ? Thanks in advance

You need to check with your former IP. The right to claim may still be an asset of the old IVA and there is a danger that the banks offset any repayment or pay it directly to the former IP. You could then find yourself with a debt to the PPI company for their share so be careful of doing anything without speaking to the former IP first.

Having used a PPI claims company I would highly recommend you don't go down the same route. These firms charge anything upto 40% in fees for any successful claim and do very little work to justify this amount of money.
There are lots of useful guides on the internet with letter templates to help you claim PPI without using a claims firm
