Barclays will accept you for their Cash Card account. Visa debit card, online and mobile phone app banking. You have to apply in a branch though.

Yorkshire bank accepted me and I told them I was in an IVA. Santandair turned me away - as did Lloyds. But it seemed to be the managers decision at these banks - they never even attempted to open me an account.

Ffrees offer a range of pseudo bank accounts - fees range according to the facilities you require, but there is a free option available. I've been using an account for a few months now and been quite impressed. No credit checks or insolvency questions involved, just an identity check.

I also have a pre paid credit card called cashplus details can be found on the web you can have your wages paid into this account and set up standing orders and direct debits they charge about £5 a month and also offer a £100 overdraft with low charges if you use it not usually offered for us in iva but comes in useful in an emergency as we all know they happen hope this helps
