Hi, I wonder if someone could help me please? My husband today has ordered some clothing from Next online. Upon registering his details he has in fact been signed up for an account which wasn't his intention. He now has a credit limit of £250! He has paid for the clothing by card and doesn't actually want an account. We are both in the last few months of our IVA and are now worried that it may come to light that he has applied for credit unintentionally which in turn will make him in breach of his IVA. He is going to ring our IVA company on Monday just to make them aware of this but we would very much welcome someone's advice as to wether we should be worrying?! Thanks in advance x

I think mine said credit over £500 was with IPs permission and if you have paid on card then you haven't actually had credit anyway. Don't worry.

This often happens with mail order -- as long as you have paid it off and not actually incurred a debt there should be no problem.

You should be fine but good idea to inform the IP to keep yourselves right.

May actually come in handy from a credit repair point of view but let your ip know to be on the safe side.

Hi

You have not used the available credit so technically have done nothing wrong.
Makes you question the lending checks made by the finance companies behind Next !

Do Next still charge for the catalogue/directory?

I'd keep an eye on that as you could be charged for them, to your account (which would mean using your 'credit' with them). I think there is an opt out option.

Hi, thankyou for replies. Yes we were very surprised that it came up with offering an account with a credit limit! It said after we'd registered to order, with it being our first order he would have to pay by card but there after he could put it on credit! (Not that we wil!) We have opted out to receive the directory too Imhotep.
