I am in an IVA and in a relationship with a new girlfriend. Currently have a mortgage for a house that my ex-wife is still living in. With my new girlfriend, what chances of getting a mortgage together with her?

While still in an IVA it is highly unlikely that you would be accepted for a mortgage. You generally have to wait until all record of defaults and IVA have dropped off your credit file, usually 6 years from the start of your IVA. You would also be putting your girlfriends credit at risk by financial association so really it is not worth considering at this time.

can she be the sole applicant for both of our salaries?

we have a water bill held jointly, should I remove myself to remove any risk of financial association?

We have two mortgage experts that post so maybe they'll catch up with this post and give you expert advice. Ryan and Shaun.

Your salary cannot be taken into consideration if she is the sole applicant. There is also the obstacle that you already have a mortgage with the ex. which, in the eyes of the lender, already eats up your salary.

Certainly don't risk harming her credit rating by joint applications/borrowing. What is going to happen to current mortgage?

I am hoping to discharge myself from the mortgage I currently have with my ex. I no longer live at the property and she can afford to be the sole payee on the mortgage, however on the instructions of her solicitor, she refuses to sign anything until the divorce has come through.
