I started an IVA enquiry with swift and they were going to sort it they said I had to pay a £375 fee to them before my IVA was presented to my creditors to show I am willing.
I paid £10 then £60 then £75 (leaving £230 to pay)
However I was then referred to Knightsbridge as Swift had said
They were specialist IVA.
There is no upfront fee with Knightsbridge as it is included in the monthly payments I wil pay for my IVA .SWIFT will get a fee from Knightsbridge for referring me. I am really confused as to why I have to pay SWIFT???
Please can anyone answer my question about this.
Knightsbridge did say I should ring swift and ask them to reimburse me.help plzz

In theory the £375 would be your first month payment - refundable if the IVA was accepted.

It is not clear whether you are paying Swift for introducing you or they did the initial admin and assessment.

This is the second time in the last few days that Swift has been mentioned with Harrington Brooks stating that they use them to find people who might want an IVA.

Some firms charge an upfront fee .. most reputable ones do not and their fee is paid by the firm to which they introduce you. Personally those that charge a fee I would avoid.

Apparently £375 is a fact finding fee to swift separately from Knightsbridge but swift will get a fee from Knightsbridge out of my IVA ?? Even more confused now but I'm not paying another penny to swift I feel conned. Knightsbridge are doing my IVA!!

A tip - if the fact finding fee included VAT then it was seperate service from Swift.

If it did not include VAT they cannot argue that it is not VAT exempt otherwise Knightsbridge will have to charge VAT as well as they did not do the fact finding.

In other words complain and complain hard if VAT has not been included.

Foggy will probably get where I am coming from on this.
