I was horrified after googling my own name that after my linkedin profile the next website listed is from bankcruptcheck.co.uk listing the full details of my IVA! I'm not sure hoe long this site has been running but it seems to pull the data from the insolvency register and displays it online just by searching your name. This may have been mentioned before but I've only just seen it!

It's a new site called bankruptcycheck.co.uk as it had a profile page with full address, occupation and all details from the insolvency register including a map of where you live !!

Fuming is NOT the word!!

I will be calling them first thing tomorrow for this to be removed !!

I'm so angry! I know the info is online on the actual register but all my details are on this website with a simple Google search of my name.
I tried looking on the website for a contact but can't find anything!

They don't appear to be a limited company as not on companies house.

My students and business contacts are always using Google to look for my LinkedIn profile - this is seriously going to impact my reputation a lot !

I know its on the insolvency register, but people only look on there if they need to - it's not in plain sight like this is !!!

I'm so worried as people use linked in ect more and more in my work place and I think if my employer found this my job would be on the line. I can't sleep with worry!
The site can't have been there for long as I've not noticed before

Just looked at it ... the link to request removal of detail is not currently working. I fully understand how you feel and would be exactly the same.

It will be a case of closing your Linkedin account, complaining directly to the company, complaining to the Insolvency Service (despite their disclaimer about external websites) and complaining to the ICO which is:

Send to casework@ico.org.uk.

The owner details of the website is
Jared Fischer
3rd Floor
45 Jamica Street
Glasgow
G1 4QG

Looking on GoogleEarth it appears that address is an NCP car park above Lidl and Matalan.

I can't remove my linkedin profile as it is needed for work.

If they are registered in Glasgow, I really hope that this is nothing to do with Creditfix, as I never saw this before and now suddenly my details are on a new site in full view, and CF are based in Glasgow!!

They appear to be a German based company with the website still under development.

Surely they cannot do this right ?

Yes freedom of information I understand, but it was on a registered govenment regulated site !

Could it be possible someone has sold on information?

Would the ICO have any interest/jurisdiction in this? At the end of the day this information has to (by law) be available to the public for good reason - would the ICO be concerned in the way it is indexed/accessed?

They wouldn't need to - you can search all courts and just put in the first letter of the surname and (for example) bring up the details of everyone who is insolvent and who's surname begins with an "A". It wouldn't take much to write a simple piece of software to automatically extract all the personal details from the register and populate your own database.

The trouble is that if you just put bankruptcheck into google it is bringing up random peoples names as well.

They seem to have paid google to raise their profile.
