Hi,

I am in need of some financial advice regarding an IVA and moving house.

I have an IVA in my name which has been completed with a full and final settlement. I also have a mortgage solely in my name. I am aware that some of the stipulations still carry on until the original completion date.

I would like to move house. My family and I currently live in a shared ownership new build house, it is now longer big enough. We would like to move to a bigger property but I keep being told that I have to wait until the completion date before anyone will offer a mortgage.

Is there anything else that I can do?

Regards

You will need to wait until the 6th anniversary of the start of the IVA when it will drop off of your records, assuming everything is dated correctly, see here:

Even then there will be some lenders who will not lend to you for up to 6 years after that, although the brokers who regularly post here have had a lot of success, once the IVA has gone from your credit files.
