Hi.
I am with Grant Thornton, in an IVA, made my last payment July 2014, I was told 6 Month to get Completion Certificate, 6 Months has been and gone, I have been waiting 5 years for the end so another few months were not a problem, but now 4 after the 6 months has ended I am being told there is an issue with PPI Claims, we have done The PPI Route, now they want to send it through a company called SHL, Slater Hayward Law, again if they want to do this, I am not particularly fussed but I really want The Completion Certificate, I have called they have said it is being prioritised, but I think i now need to complain, where would be my first port of call, and how would I word it. This probably sounds like gobble de gook, but I am sure you understand where I am coming from.
I am also willing to pay for some Legal Advice/Help to get this resolved.

Hi len I am also with grant Thornton I understand because I was in the same position I had to wait over a year and 3 months for my completion certificate I had to contact the IPA and complain and eventually within a month of complaining I received my cc even though they haven't finished investigating my ppi they are still investigating it I hope you get your cc soon.

First check your proposal. Most have a clause stating that they can only be extended twice, once for up to 6 months and the next for up to three. They have to give notice of such extensions before the preceeding periods end.

If that is the case, you have no cause for complaint. If not, you have to go through the laborious GT internal complaints procedure and then complain to the regulators.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I wrote GT a Stroppy e mail yesterday, with IVA Forum in subject.
Today I receive an e mail back, saying IVA closed as of today's date 5/5/15. PDF copies of paperwork in e mail, with hard copies in 10-14 days.
Could not believe it.
What is the next step for me now??

Monitor the Insolvency Register and see that you drop off over the next 3 months.

Thanks again for advice, I'm still gob smacked that it came to an end today

After finishing my IVA and hearing nothing for several months, I rang GT and was told that my file had not even been sent to the completion dept, I wrote a official complaint and within days I had a telephone call informing me my case was being closed immediately and my certificate would be with me within 2 weeks, they were true to their word, I also mention this forum in my complaint, looks like they are worried about what people are saying about them in public. congratulations.

It would seem egg on face and potential loss of future business is now the only language these companies understand these days.

Longwinded complaints procedure, or public humiliation - one seems to get a quicker response than the other ![:D][:D][:D]

3 Months time and hopefully drop off Insolvency Register, and then see what happens.
