Sorry people me again, im currently looking at my credit agencies information as everything should come off after 6 yrs which is july this year. I've contacted the 3 main agencies and had mixed responses. one has filed a dispute with the creditors and I should hear back within 21-28 days, another has asked me to send them the info that is wrong and completion certificate and the other said I have to contact creditors and sort myself as in their experience creditors want to deal with you directly so im not sure which is the best route to take. Also one creditor sold my account on back in 2012 so is showing as still in default not settled from 2012 now so don't know what to do with that especially when original creditor got some money at end of IVA, maybe its just been sold in their team? Finally im confused about where to write to regarding the wrong dates. Experian have a list on my credit file saying if need to contact creditors these are addresses but when ive gone on the link on here that foggy sent about cleaning up after an IVA and looked at data controller if I type the creditor in it gives different address to those on my report? I really don't want to have to ring each creditor as would find it very distressing, sorry for all the questions, just want to get everything right first time

All advice given is right but i would advise you send letters and copies of certificate of completion to the creditirs direct asking them to remove and clean your files - i found this to be the quickest way

You should write to the data controllers of the creditors, which are often at different addresses.

It matters little if the account is shown as still in default, settled or partially settled, as long as you get the default date as near as makes little difference to the start date of the IVA, then, at the 6th Anniversary it should disappear regardless of status. But, if you are writing anyway ......
