Hi, I wouldn't worry too much. Check your proposal as many include a clause allowing for credit up to £500. As long as it's paid when you return and don't build up credit without the permission of the I.P.

Whether you speak to your I.P or not is up to you. Enjoy the holiday , being in an IVA doesn't mean you can't continue holidays but I'm off camping in Scotland in 2 weeks. Just can't really afford the foreign holiday.

I agree --- check your proposal as most do allow credit up to £500 ( some with permission, some without ). As long as it is paid off pretty promptly from your normal allowances it should be OK -- you will not be allowed an extra expense allowance for that purpose.

Do check that proposal thoroughly though as you wouldn't want to use it to the detriment of your IVA. Hope you're ok to get away as we all need a break.

It says, "I shall not incur any further credit greater than 500 without prior approval of supervisor". That sounds like I can use the card then? It only has a small limit and I will clear it asap. It would be good to keep for emergency stuff too.

Holiday is all inclusive, so won't need much spending money, thank goodness

Well It gets better, I can't remember my pin. Would the 500 include overdraft?

Yes, total credit. Remember to leave yourself a cushion. Enjoy your holiday with your family and don't worry!.

Yes an O/D, if you can get one, would be covered by the £500. Can you request a new PIN or PIN reminder online or over the phone ?

Cant you borrow the cash off someone and pay back when you get home?

Not to put a downer on this but this creditor may have suspended the card/account when notified of the iva so even if the PIN was found or remembered it nay be rejected.
As others have suggested there may be a way round things but I am not sure.

Hi lulu. They weren't included in iva as no balance and forgot I had the account. I rang automated number and it said I had available credit and online account is active.

If I request overdraft through my bank, will they credit check me and if they see iva, could they close my account?

They would credit check you and they could close it - a lot depends on whether the account is linked to anyone you owe money to.

You need to bear in mind that at this point your credit history is totally trashed and getting anyone to lend to you may be impossible.
