Hi everyone

Are there any people out there with credit score knowledge. I've checked mine on credit expert and its 803 out of 999? My IVA started on 9/8/11 but now F&F has been accepted I want to prepare rebuilding my score. I know most should go at 6 years.

I would not worry to much about credit scores - they mean very little.

All your defaults and IVA will remain on file for 6 years - so accessing mainstream lending etc may prove problematic.
However once to have your completion certificate - you should check that your defaults are dated to the start of your IVA.
You may want to consider a mobile phone contract/Credit Card etc to help rebult a credit history - but be careful of multiple applications

Hey Chick :-)

Info about rebuilding can be found here:

As Ginger says, the scores on the doors mean very little and are not even seen by the lenders who search.

Thank you. What worried me is we done some compare the market insurance quotes, one quote left 38 searches on my file!

Also it doesn't show default dates, everything is just missed payments on the accounts that are being settled under the IVA

The search records will disappear by the time the IVA does and most lenders will know to discount these when considering a credit application.

What if the default dates on your credit file are a few month after the date your iva was approved?

A couple of mine are -- I have decided to leave it, I am in no hurry to get credit, but you are perfectly within your rights to contact the data controller for the particular creditors and request that the date be amended.

Cheers foggy, were desperate to move to get the kids in a better catchment area for their schools. Been wanting to move for ages, so asap, not really wanting additional credit, just to allow us to move on!

I believe that if they won't change it, you can either get the CRA to change it, or make a formal complaint to the financial ombudsman!

I have contacted the financial ombudsman it's been a long investigation since last year.
