Hi, My IVA started on the 10th August 2010 and I received my completion statement dated 29th September 2015. I have checked the Insolvency Register and this shows my IVA completed on the 29th September, but it hasn't been removed yet. I understand this will take 3 months, but I have read quite a few posts where people have been removed within a few weeks of completion. I don't feel this is 'treati
ng people fairly' as the same timescale should apply to everyone. Is there anything I can do about this. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It can take up to three months to remove the record, some are done earlier but there is nothing you can do as they will just tell you that it will take three months.

Mine was done within weeks but some people (and Foggy is one) was not taken off until the three months were up.

Afraid you are just going to have to put up with it!!

Technically any iva before April 2010 should be removed immediately after cc is issued.

Post April 2010 it is up to 3 months.

That's the way it is worded so the insolvency service aren't doing anything wrong.

My details were removed within 2 days of getting my CC in the post, so about 5 days in total, I was shocked it was so quick.

It's just the way the cookie crumbles - some come off quickly others don't but it will always be within three months.

Hi Paula,

We were taken off exactly 3 months to the day after completion, and we concluded our iva a few years earlier than planned.

I think it depends on how quick the iva co inform the credit agencies and insolvency register people, and I'd imagine that some like to drag their heels about it.

If there's a way of hurrying things along then go for it, send a quick e-mail.
Otherwise just be grateful that you have completed and keep checking to see when it is removed.

Congrats on the completion [:)]

There isn't a way of hurrying it - it's just the luck of the draw.

Check to see if the IVA is shown as completed on the Register. If so then they have already been informed by your IP.

When you come off the Register depends entirely upon who picks up your docket. Most will take it off right away, but there are others who like to appear busy by keeping their in tray full.

When I queried this with them they stated categorically that the name remains for three months and the never remove them early. When I went on to challenge this they simply stopped responding to my emails!

I would say that sending a polite email with a copy of your CC is worth a try --- it might get picked up by someone who actually works for their salary.

I agree it shouldn't be the luck of the draw or however else you can view it. One rule fair and simple. But then IVA's should be like that too especially at closure time and again it's not. Maybe more regulation required?

Hubby and I had to wait 3 months to the day.
