Had an email today to say my IVA is now with Aperture as they have taken on Cleardebt's portfolio....I have to say I am surprised...Says nothing will change. So hopefully it won't as Cleardebt have been excellent throughout my IVA and I only have 3 payments left!

It shouldn't matter with 3 payments to go other than gt are rubbish at issuing completion certificates.

What I'm trying to get my head around is you saying it is clear debt as in David Mond?

Yep - first few lines in email

" I am writing with some exciting news – Aperture Debt Solutions LLP ("Aperture") has recently acquired the IVA portfolio of ClearDebt Limited and will now be looking after the supervision of your IVA. This follows an agreement between ClearDebt and Aperture and an Order made in the High Court of Justice."

Hope I am allowed to post the above.

I am surprised about this - first I've heard of it.

That's certainly surprising! Most surprised that this would be communicated to you in an email too!

Unless I have been sent a spam email from some Company??? But have only ever had proper emails from Cleardebt to my email address...so didn't give any thought to the possibility it might be spam!!

title of the email is:
"Your Individual Voluntary Arrangement ("IVA") with ClearDebt Limited"

The Aperture Company have a Belfast address...

Apologies if it is SPAM!

Sounds genuine. Wouldn't be the first time iva cases have been sold on. We were with Cleardebt and they were fantastic.

There was a link on the email to take me to their FAQ which i have just done - sorry didn't not sure if i am allowed to post links on here.

Few of the things it says:

We recently re-launched as Aperture from Grant Thornton IVA, and we have over 20 years’ experience in helping our clients to recover from debt and getting them on the path to a brighter future.

ClearDebt have recently undertaken a strategic review of their business and have made the decision to no longer supervise this portfolio of IVAs. As such, our role is to act as Supervisor of the IVAs and to work with you to ensure that the arrangements can progress to completion.

Hopefully David will get back about this.

If true this is another nail in the coffin for "Independent" IVA providers. Soon there will be three or four large providers, in the creditors pockets and IVA's will be creditor run by the back door.

I might have disagreed with 90% of everything linked to them but at the same time David was a force pushing for change.

If true as Foggy implies this is a game changer.

All,

Having turned 70 last November and having been involved in the personal insolvency arena for 46 years I have been told by my children and grandchildren to try and take it easy.

ClearDebt have passed over the administration of approx 8,700 cases to Aperture with effect from 29 January 2016 and relates to those cases on our books as at evening of 13 January.

We are still continuing and will build up our book again and still offer the most appropriate advice to consumers who wish to use our services.

If any former client of ClearDebt who has any problems or issues with Aperture they can always post here and I will be available to help as always.

Thanks for all the ClearDebt praise, it is appreciated.

Regards

David
