My iva completed 3 years ago. I now want to apply for a new mortgage deal. My problem is the one I want asks if you have been bankrupt or in an iva. Can they check this?

Hi,
Have a word with either Ryan or Shaun (details under the expert link on the left hand side of the page) - they have been instrumental in helping many posters on here get a mortgage.

Hi, not sure how they check, but it is best to answer the questions honestly and up front as these things often have a habit of coming back to bite us later on.
An all of market broker such as Ryan or Shaun may be able to help as they have helped many poster post IVA.

Some lenders have access to pooled archival records (much the same as the insurance industry) to combat fraud and money laundering.
Added to this the fact that many PPI reclaim companies seem to be able to go back 35 years, there must also be some archive of credit history somewhere .... darned if I know where though.
