Hello All

I completed my IVA a good 18 months ago and this morning i received a letter from a company called Consumer Advisory Service.

The letter reads......

Completed IVA

We would be grateful if you would contact us concerning matters regarding your completed IVA.
We have information that you should be aware of concerning a recent high court decision that ruled in favour of completed IVA holders. Due to the ruling we have identified that it is likely that monies may now be owed to you in respect to the return of charges previously paid by you.

Due to the complexity of matters we would welcome the opportunity of explaining the issues, as they will be based on your specific circumstances.

please call the advice line on Freephone 08000987940

when calling please quote reference XXXXXX

we look forward to hearing further from you.

this is the website - http://consumeradvisoryservice.co.uk/index.html

ok now, what ruling is this? as i dont find one doing a google search

also the number doesn't come up on a google search either

thanks for any info on any of these matters :)

Just ignore.

I should add the web site is not legally compliant, any site that requires you to have a log in in this way is more interested in obtaining your personal details and it is also masquerading as a semi official consumer group.

As others have said bin it, sounds like a scam, especially as the legitimate company with that name was dissolved quite a few years ago.

The current court case, regarding PPI refunds, has not had a final ruling, so I doubt they are referring to that one.
Other than that I would hazard that these are a firm of the ambulance chasing variety and best given a wide berth.

There are other companies at this address which may have nothing to do with this one - there is a website for the spurious company but unless you sign up and register you can't find anything out.

Hi,

Nobody knows what is going to happen with the high court ruling - we just have to wait and see.

Apparently due to be heard in May.

Ignore the ppi amount side - what you need to know is that there is no delay with completion certificates.

If this was a genuine letter I would expect it to come from your IP firm.
