I am just about to enter my additional 12 month extension, as can't re-finance etc and my car has given up on me!

New gearbox and clutch needed and I'm looking at a ballpark figure of £1,000 at present.

Would it be possible to get a second payment break as I had an initial one when my wife went on maternity leave, so my IVA got extended by 7 months?

If not I'm b*****ed as I need the car for work, and could only borrow the cash for repairs for 3 months tops! Currently paying around £240 a month on my IVA

Hi Yes you can ask your IP for another payment break (and/or even a reduction in your contributions if you are struggling) but they might have to call a variation to get it approved depending on your terms.

I had 3 payment breaks 1 lasting almost 12mths while I was going through a difficult time. Call up your IVA company, they're there to help and will certainly try their best.
