Basic bank accounts are available across the majority of banks since January 2016 irrespective of your credit status.
However hsbc are notorious for cherry picking customers based on credit score.
Your iva remains on your credit score for 6 years irrespective of how early it ended.

Don't touch HSBC or First Plus with a ten foot barge pole!

If the IVA is still on your record then HSBC won't even look at you.

Your IVA isn't finished until you have your CC.

Any idea how long that takes with DFD Lisa? Do I need to keep onto them about it? Thanks

Some firms can take up to 6 months - I'm not sure if DFD are one of the slower ones - some other posters should soon let you know.
Yes I recommend you keep the pressure on them - it should only really take couple of weeks in practice or a 5-6 weeks if creditors have to be sent an additional notice because they haven't put their claim forms in yet.

Dfd do things their way - not necessarily the right way.
They can be slow with issuing the cc and the f&f may not be necessarily the end of things.

Sorry but experience from the board suggests that dfd do things a certain way.
Look at the posts linked to lilaclady.
