I'm a year out of my IVA now and although all the unsecured debt has gone, I am still saddled with a £125K repayment mortgage and a secured loan on which I owe £59K. The APRs on these are about 4% and 9% respectively. My Home is worth about £230K, and I am 55 years old. I am trying to get my outgoings down as I am not currently working and looking to start a small business with some small savings. I may be a basketcase but there used to be some canny mortgage guys posting on this site a few years back and I'm wondering if, given there is some equity in the house, I can get these outgoings down from the current £1500 pcm its costing me at the moment by consolidating with another post-IVA sympathetic mortgage provider - if anyone will have me that is...

Thanks kallis, I originally posted in that area but will drop an email to Ryan as suggested. I used to post as soreloser years ago when I was with cdebt who did a grand job.

Hello
I had success recently getting a re-mortgage from a high street lender after competing 6 years from start of iva and checked to make sure credit file all up to date with no negative mark, however as the other posters have suggested , use the help of whole market brokers who specialize in post iva mortgage.I used a broker and there were no hiccups
I was left in the end with a choice of 3 high street lenders to choose from , Barclays,Halifax and tsb. I went with tsb.
good luck
