I received my CC on Saturday, F&F accepted on 9th June, pretty speedy :).

I just want to say a massive thanks to everyone from McD, throughout the whole process they have always been extremely helpful, as I've said before there were a few teething problems at the start but that was just me getting used to the IVA.

After reading some reports of other IPs on the forum, I guess I was lucky that McD were the only company I phoned & they turned out to be one of the best. I can highly recommend them to anyone thinking of an IVA.

The whole process has been a learning experience. I have been lucky in the fact that I've been able to change phone contract a few times, changed electricity provider, never had an issue with insurance (I informed both home & car insurance I was in an IVA) & been able to get a decent mortgage rate, I know others who have had issues. I've learnt to budget, where before I may have been wasteful. I love looking for bargains now, especially clothes wise.

For anyone starting out, it may seem daunting but believe me when you have that CC in your hand its the best feeling (I was crying like a baby on Saturday). U will have ups & downs but after 5/6 years you will be debt free, something I haven't been since about 20 (now 37).

Massive thanks to everyone on the forum also, the advice on here has been invaluable, glad I found it near the start of my journey. I haven't posted loads but always check in.

Nice to hear, thank you for sharing and well done on completing your IVA.

I think Michael, who posts on here for McD, is on holiday at the moment. Hopefully he will see this when he returns.

Quick update.

I am off the IVA register, WOOP WOOP!!!!!!

I know it can take up to 3 months, so considering I only received my CC on 13 August, that is less than 2 weeks.

Brilliant news!!! Mine was only two weeks as well.

Wonderful feeling isn't it?

Yeah Kallis it is.

Fully expected it to be 3 months, but just checked every few days on the off chance.

Will drop off credit files next year & all signs of IVA will have gone (apart from the ingrained budgeting lol).

Well since McD were so quick at sending it out, it certainly helped :)
