Hi, I'm new on here.

Been thinking of getting an IVA but not sure who to go with. Had a chat with Holmes Financial Solutions and Debt Advisory Centre but don't know if they are the real deal or not.
Which company should I go with? Need to decide soon as my credit cards are maxed and soon I won't have money for food for my family so need to start on the IVA as soon as possible.

Thank you for your advice!

Hi and welcome,

Speak to a couple of companies. Vincent Bond can be contacted for some free advice - details can be found under the ask experts a question link on the left hand side of the page.

There will be a solution for you.

I would also recommend finding a local Insolvency Practitioner who can arrange an IVA. Do a search on Google for a local office and give them a call.

I always recommend you have a physical meeting and meet your potential Supervisor/IP in person. Look for a local firm and make an appointment to see them so you can see a little as to what the firm and the IP are like and whether you think you can work together over the next few years.

CAB can advise but don't manage IVAs - you will need a licensed IP for this.

Honeybee -- I would suggest a look around the forum where you will see which firms are looked upon more favourably ( and less so).

Personally I would look for a fir that is small to medium, where you won't get lost in the crowd. One where they will let you talk to the IP directly if need be --- oddly, with such a firm you don't often have to do this. And one you are happy with the way they deal with equity -- again read around the forum for background.
