Hi,
No idea on this one - perhaps a quick anonymous call to them?

Hi, I've just switched our Natwest Basic Account to a Rewards account with no problem whatsoever -probably because they are charging you, they don't really care!

Yes they do check and if they discover the IVA will refuse to change to the rewards account. I have a select silver and they didn't close my account though. The chap in my local natwest told me to pop in when the iva is off the register and he would try again.

Natwest are particularly inconsistent with their attitude to IVA's. I suspect the computer says "No" but branch managers who "have a pair" over-ride it.

Watzki, did you go into your branch or do it online? I went into the branch and the person I saw tried his best to get it through but to no avail. Must admit I'm tempted to try again online this time.

I did everything online - log in and there is an option to upgrade or you can have a look at the Rewards accounts and then select them. Good luck.

Be careful as it might leave a trace on your credit record for the next couple of years --- then, when your file is clear they will wonder why they refused you twice before and double check.

Thanks for that esgt1967. I'm wondering if it was because I was applying for the rewards silver that it was rejected. I'll see what happens!!

Good point Foggy. Hadn't considered that. Think I'll forget about it until the 6 year clear up.
