Hi all

It's been about 3 years since our IVA was done and dusted and everything is okay.

We got a letter the other day from a company called CIO (Consumer Information Office) who are based at Manchester. The letter claims that due to a high court ruling last year, we may be able to reclaim charges that were paid by us in relation to our IVA.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I assume the High Court ruling they are referring to is the one under appeal at the moment regarding PPI. As it is under appeal it is not yet binding and so this statement is, basically, a lie. Mail shots out of the blue, by "official" sounding companies, based on lies are suspect, to say the least!

The court case relates to PPI reclaimed by the IP from closed cases and has nothing to do with the charges in an IVA. You may not even had PPI but these types of companies get their hands on old lists from the insolvency register and send letters or cold call the names on it.

Personally I would bin the letter or just post it back to them as you did not want it in the first place.

Agree with the above - file it under 'R' for rubbish.
