Hi all,,
My IVA is due to finish 22nd of this month after 1 year extension (equity).
I have been on noddle 2 defaults dropped off in January and last 2 dropped off this month?? I wasn't expecting this I thought they would drop off at the end of 6th year??
I have sent final income and expenditure review paperwork to Aperture, had a reply by text to say will be in contact within 6 weeks. My IVA is due to finish in less then 2 weeks....my credit score has increased since defaults disappeared?

Hi and well done on finishing ( all but the final paperwork really). Some of your defaults could have been dated before the start of the IVA and so would drop off at their own 6 year mark. However, Noddle removed a few of mine early.

Yes, your score will improve as the defaults drop off -- but the biggy will be when the IVA itself goes :-). Once you have your certificate, give it a few weeks and check the three agencies by getting a copy of your statutory report from each.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

Mal, i finished my IVA in October after a years extension. I am hopefully coming towards the end of clearing up the credit file mess after my IVA.

I would stongly suggest getting your credit files from Equifax, Experian and Callcredit.

Check EVERY entry for creditors who were part of your IVA to ensure that the DEFAULT DATE is on or before the start of the IVA. I found that 3 creditors had failed to update my records correctly. Nationwide was guilty of 2 errors and by recording one of my accounts as settled with no default date recorded the account would remain for 6 years after the settlement date. I am in discussions with them now prior to complaining to the Information Commissioners Office. From what i have read the credit file entry will drop off after 6 years from a default date or settlement date, whichever comes first.

After 3 months of work with the creditors to sort out their entries and using a Vanquis card to start a small credit history I am please to say that my credit scores have improved massively.

Good luck on repairing yours.
