The IVA will come off the register within three months of completion. It used to be quite random as to when your name came off but lately it does seem to be an almost standard three months.
If you want to check about the restriction you could run a search against your property which only costs a few pounds. However most firms notify the land registry when the completion certificates are sent out and they are quite good at removing things.

As Michael says you should drop off the register within three minths. It is actually their policy to wait for three months to the day, however, not all thier officers stick to that.
The arrangement will stay on your credit files for 6 years from the start.

Your IVA will come off the register by May 2017 at which point you can start to rebuild your credit rating as your 6 years will pass on 24.03.17
You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

Thanks for replies, so really an IVA lasts 6 years and 3 months as I see it.

The responsibilities last for the term of the IVA until the CC is issued so everybody's IVA will be different but most IVA's allow a standard 6 months to close the case and then it takes up to 3 months to come off the register so possibly 9 months after the last payment before the IVA register is amended.

The IVA completes when the certificate is issued and not when your name comes off the register. For the three months you are there post IVA you are not subject to the windfall clause, overtime, bonuses etc so the IVA has ceased.
