So I have finished my IVA and it has now come off my credit file. After accessing my credit file reports. I have noted that there are 2 x defaults on there for accounts that were in the IVA. Also one account showing arrears which was also in the IVA. I have emailed all creditors concerned and have not yet received a response from them. I am hoping to move and get a bigger mortgage and cannot do this with these showing on my file. Does anybody have experience of this and did the creditors act quickly.

Hi -- has the 6th year anniversary passed and were the defaults dated correctly ?
Have a read here:

Also have a look at my latest blog entries (link in my signature below). Mine went smoothly, right on the eve of the 6th anniversary dates and Call Credit actually did it a little early !

Hi Kaz,
Some of our Clients have found that by contacting the Creditors via Social Media they get a quicker response - apparently it's the best way to complain these days as Companies hate other people seeing how inept they are!

write to the data controller and insist that the defaults are backdated to the start of the IVA. They should then drop off if/when the 6 year anniversary passes, if it hasn't already.

Thank you for your comments. 2 of my defaults are dated after the IVA commenced which is now no longer on my record. One of my accounts is just stating in arrears since 2010. I have emailed the companies and sent a message to Equifax regarding this.

I agree with Lisa, write to their Data Control Officer. You can find their details here

I'd be tempted to post on social media too as Ryan suggests, except that this means putting the information out in the public domain which you might not want to do.

Obviously you don't have to say 'I've got a default.....' you would merely say that you aren't happy with their service or lack of and want to make a complaint.

Thanks for all your advice. I plan to email them daily. I contacted one of them by phone today so I will just keep harassing them until they sort it out.
