Hi,

My partner is offering me 3k in regards to settling my IVA that the figure is currently 6k 48 months of 130 per month repayments. Do you think this is acceptable as he doesn't know where to start in regards to sending a letter as I have been told I can't do the letter.

Seems a bit strange.

The F&F letter and request for a variation to consider it should be coming from you, albeit it with an enclosure from you partner confirming and providing evidence that the funds are his.

There is a template on this site under letter templates that should help you.

£3k seems a little light to me but it's up to creditors at the end of the day.

If they refuse you could always try again in say, 1 year, when there are less payments left and the offer is a bit more attractive.

Best of luck.

Template is here:

I assume your IP means you cannot do the letter from the donor -- as they are the ones funding the offer. Either that or he doesn't need / want your offer in writing and was referring to the variation proposal, which he will draft.
