Hi,

I promised to update a couple of interested forum users on how long it took for Payplan to send out the completion letter after last payment.

Well to say I’m shocked is an understatement! My last payment was 15th March after 6 long years! The letter was dated 20th April as completed! Arrived today!

Aside the shock of the relatively short time to receive this compared to some of the nightmare timescales I have been reading, that is it! I’m done!

I don’t know whether to laugh, cry, jump for joy, take a moment to think about my journey and what it has taught me, because it has certainly taught me a life lesson.

Bottom line is I did it and for those of you who are either just starting out, not even started yet, in the middle or close to the end, you can do it too. This day will come for you.

You are all amazing people for recognising you have to deal with this stuff head on. And keep your head held high knowing you are doing something about it.

Take all the advice you can from this forum. A big shout out to the forum experts too for their words of wisdom. Very grateful indeed.

Not wanting to rain on your parade OP but we received a letter from Payplan when my wife's IVA finished last year. It said we had fullfilled our obligations etc, etc. but we still waited until the beginning of this month for the actual completion certificate.

Hi there,

It’s definitely my completion letter as it says all money has now been paid to creditors with a break down of the amounts. It says my creditors cannot pursue me even though I’m no longer in the Iva. It lists my PPI obligations as per standard and it’s all been signed off as completed on the 20th April by the IP. Definitely no doubt it is my completion letter.

Steve - that is your completion letter - you do not get a certificate.

A "Completion Certificate" could just be a plain piece of paper with something along these lines on it:

Insolvency Act 1986
In the matter of XXXXXX
I, XXXX of XXXXXXX, Chartered
Accountant, the Supervisor of the aforementioned voluntary arrangements give notice pursuant to
Rule 5.34(2) of the Insolvency Rules 1986 that my duties are complete and that the arrangements
have been fully implemented.
XXXXXXX
Dated this XXXXXXXX

Nothing you could frame and hang in the loo :-)

Yep I can confirm it’s a bit of paper with no frills. Important all the same but as stated that is it!

It wasn't, we got the certificate at the beginning of this month.
