A positive thought for everyone starting their IVA journey...

Hi all

I started a joint IVA with my husband back in 2007 with Accuma which was then taken over by GT. We completed in 2013 having paid a year extra in lieu of remortgaging our house.

Last year we successfully applied for a new mortgage via a broker recommended from this site (Zebra) with Halifax at market rates and were able to move to our dream home. Today, I was able to apply for a loan to help my son buy his first car and was offered the lowest rate (2.7% with Sainsburys).

Believe me, I know that long, hard slog of a journey is hard when you are on it but rest assured when you are out the other side, it all becomes so worth it. Yes, five years later we are still sending cheques to GT re PPI received, but I never viewed it as our money as so much of our debt was written off in the IVA.

The sun is shining and England are still in the World Cup! Stay positive people, it will be worth it! :D :D

Great post, Destiny, and encouragement to those who might be flagging during their journey.

Happy that everything is now working out so well for you and your family.

Onward and Upward :-)

Excellent post and gives hope to those still going through the process - a very bright light at the end of the tunnel!

Just love the positivity of your post Destiny, great that you share your journey and instil a lot of belief into those who may think it was a bad idea to enter an IVA.

...and now Post of the Month to boot! So, on the basis that Destiny wouldn't have been on the forum without the IVA, does the £25 voucher become an asset of the IVA and have to be paid to the IP?! :D I think not, congratulations Destiny.
