Hello Friends,

I use the term sparingly these days but I really mean it in every sense of the word “FRIENDS”. I have had a rough but worthwhile six year learning curve. I’ve discovered what it means to be truly skint. But I’ve also discovered the freedom that being in control of your finances, albeit with puppy walker constraints on, means for a sleep friendly night. I’ve had weeks, alright sometimes months, where I thought my wife and I would not make it through this journey together. But I’m pleased to say we’re probably closer together now than we’ve ever been. Although I’m still not sure she has grasped the concept of “We can’t do that because I AM in an IVA. Still we are together.

But that no longer matters because today I received a lovely email from Creditfix (ok on the back of a complaint threat) Congratulating me on being debt free and enclosing my Completion Certificate and closure pack. For those still on your journey I can attest it feels as good as you imagine it will, so keep up the struggle, you will get there.

I just want to say that I honestly may never have made this journey intact without the sound advice and support from the lovely people that make up this forum. There are countless people who support these boards for no reason other than to help others. People that have trodden where I have trod and where many of you guys are still treading. So thank you all. Names like Foggy, Kallis, Ryan, Sean and Merlin immediately spring to mind, but there are many many more and I apologise for not mentioning you all.

So to all of you lovely people, than you so very much for all you do. You are very very much appreciated.

Oh yeah. The title, It wasn’t a train coming. It really was light at the end of the tunnel.

Can I just ask how long after your last payment did you get your CC from Creditfix and was the complaint due to the length of time they were taking to issue the CC?

To be honest I never actually made the complaint but I was getting seriously racked off with their total lack of communication. I sent 3 emails and had contact with their apologetic customer services who promised to chase up closures. I basically numbered and itemised a list of questions that I demanded they have the curtesy to reply to. The last question was “ To whom do I make my initial complaint to”. I had an email response 24 hours later answering all my questions and telling me I could expect to wait 6 months at the outside but probably less. One hour later they emailed me my CC & closure pack and told me to expect a hard copy by Friday. All in all last payment to receipt of CC 3 weeks. Which I have to say was pretty good going. I wrote back and thanked them, I was so surprised. But as others have said, closure speed is one thing they do well. Good luck with yours.
