true or false

I have just been informed by letter that my mortgage equity release in month 54 has been rejected, so this letter has been sent to my IP company and now I will wait and I will assume it will be the 12 month extension which is fine and acceptable and certainly workable.
however the true or false part is this, they also added that after the date of completion of my IVA, it will still be a further 6 years after this date before my credit rate is clear and acceptable...…..I thought it was 6 years from the first date and not the completed date :( :( :( :(

It is six years from the start of your IVA - once you have your completion letter it will be clear.

False -- as Kallis says, that 6 year clock started it's countdown the day the IVA started. Assuming all defaults are dated correctly, once the completion certificate is issued, the IVA and the defaulted accounts will drop off. Have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

Thank you both very much indeed for clearing that one up, I thought I had read it correctly but as it came from a mortgage lender I suddenly had a doubt or two set in...…. :? :?

might be that some lenders have a minimum time after completion before they will even look at giving you a mortgage, i think santander won't ever look at giving someone a mortgage if they have ever been in an iva or bankrupt.

As Mark says: It is possibly that particular lenders policy.

To give you an idea...
we started IVA Feb 2013. completed a year ago nearly (omg!!!) Got CC in October.
Came off he register. Got a credit card. Checked credit reports and currently have a mortgage in principle agreement for a considerable amount ready to move house (on the market!)
That MIP is with a high street lender who was included in our IVA.

Also, some lenders keep their own records for longer than six years although they don't show up on normal credit records.

Can I ask which high street lender you called? My Iva started in September 2013. Settled and discharged July 2017. All my credit reports are excellent or good. But unable to find anyone to loan to me.

Morning All,

Thank you for the kind words about Mike and myself. We are helping a lot of people who have IVA's clear up their credit reports and obtain mortgages at the minute, but more than happy to look at other members as and when needed.
