so that's that then

on Saturday I received my completion certificate from PayPlan, I have to say considering I paid-up the IVA early (was due to finish in Jan I paid in September) I have been impressed with their service. I know some have had issues but they have been very good to me.

The letter doesn't really give a clear explanation on what I do now, lots of mention about PPI payments being theirs (the way I look at it they are welcome to 100% of nothing).

I am made aware that credit reference agencies are not made aware of my completion which I get, but how do I go about contacting them or indeed is this something I need to do?

This site has been massively valuable to me over the past 6 years so thank you to those that have replied to my sometimes banal questions and panic-stricken state.

For anybody thinking about going into an IVA, think about it long and hard, if I am honest I didn't. I should have maybe looked at other options beforehand, i.e. contact the creditors direct etc. but whats done is done. I am hoping to move on and certainly learn lessons from this segment of my life.

for those who have just started their IVA, the first two years are really hard, but it does get easier I promise :)

Well done !

CRAs will be made aware, but not directly: The IP has to report completion to the Insolvency Service, who, in turn, will report to the CRA's. Have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record.

Also my last few blog entries deal with post completion -- link at the bottom of my posts.

These things should happen automatically, but, oftentimes (and becoming more commonplace) they do not, so it is a good idea to keep an eye on things for a while to check and prompt, if required.

Great news Tim! You may have to wait up to three months for it to come off the Insolvency Register.

Your credit record should be updated after six years - just make sure any default dates are from the date of your IVA.
