How long should an IVA completion certificate take?

Hi all. I'm with aperture IVA. I paid my last payment of 72 on 27/08/2019.
I was asked for my last 12 months payslips, P60 etc for the final review. I was told on 27/09 that after receiving all relevant paperwork that the review would take 4-6 weeks to see if I owed any money. I've not heard back so I'm assuming that I don't owe.
Bearing in mind that it takes maybe 3-6 months, on average to issue a completion certificate, is it issued 3-6 months after the last payment date or from when they decide I owe no further money. I'm also aware that aperture are notoriously slow with dates so the 4-6 weeks could end up being months or are those time frames binding please guys out casual like most other things seem to be?
Regards - Lee

It is usually after your last payment and then it will be passed to the closures team but Aperture are notoriously slow. I would keep chasing them.

Hi kallis3 - thanks for your reply. Yeah, aperture said the same and apologies for not really understanding but does the 3-6 month clock start ticking for the issue of my completion certificate at the date of my last payment or when it reaches the closures team please? Hope that makes sense?
Regards and thanks for any help - Lee

I think Aperture 'start the clock' once the file has found it's way to closures.

Thanks foggy. I thought so but trying to get hold of them to see where I'm at is nigh on impossible. I'm still waiting for a letter to drop on the mat asking for more money even though it's 5 weeks after they said it'd take 4-6 to evaluate the final review. It makes you feel really nervous and there's no correspondence whatsoever.

They should not ask for more money unless you have PPI claims going. Aperture are notorious at bad communications.

My last scheduled payment was the 1st of July 19 and I'm still waiting... I got asked for additional pay slips about 4 weeks ago stretching as far back as August 2018 as well as one for the end of July 19 even though my last payment was at the beginning of that month despite supplying all requested income and expenditure info on time every time. Its supposedly with the closure's team now but as of yet I haven't received anything from them other than a verbal warning over the phone that an additional payment will be likely but again no confirmation on how much this is going to be. So when you phone them up and they tell you it could take 3-6 months they really mean at least 6 months and they can never give you any real update on what is happening because they haven't got a clue!
I don't know how companies that are so poorly ran as Aperture are allowed to exist there should be some sort of basic rules set so the iva companies have to adhere to otherwise they are heavily punished because it really appears that once you are signed up to an iva company its a one way system of you complying to whatever and whenever they demand things while they can take as long as they want to process things and don't have any real obligation to communicate with you the customer!
Aperture are a shambles!

Hi Kristian. Thanks for your reply and yes, I'm expecting the same bumpy road to completion.
Was you last payment in July your 60th or 72nd? I was verbally assured that I wouldn't have to pay any more after the 72nd payment but a week after I sent the 12 payslips and P60 for the final review they sent me an I&E review package so I don't really trust them to know where they are.

It was my 84th in my case, I had a 12 month extension due to not being able to get a mortgage for the equity release however due to no one from aperture bothering to contact me 6 months from the end of my final year requesting this I then had a series of cockups from them where they actually told me on my 72nd payment that my iva was finished and I could expect my completion certificate in the following 6 months only to be informed at the end of those 6 months that I hadn't addressed the equity clause in my agreement.
So having completed the 12 month extension 6 months later than I should have I'm now at the end of my 6 month wait yet again over 8 years after starting the iva while being re-assured my iva is finished and I am just awaiting the outcome of the final review and completion certificate!
Can't wait to see what oversight from there end transpires yet again.
Aperture the never ending nightmare!

Hi Kristian. Blimey, 84th payment. That's an awful amount of time.
I have been told via email that I can't remortgage and they're satisfied with that, but I'm just not convinced by their time frames for confirming I don't owe any further money after the final review. I think the word week should be replaced by month to be realistic of they're they are but I agree they should be held to account by binding time frames.

Hi Lee
From personal experience, my own certificate took 6 months - almost to the day. If yours is the same as mine then it would be February. That was in 2014 - I would hope they speeded things up a bit since then.

Hi there! Am also waiting for my certificate of completion and am also with Aperture unfortunately... same as you, Kristian, I was asked to send my additional wage slips then Aperture calcultated them very quickly, and I paid additional £700+ ten days ago. And when I phoned Aperture, To make payment that day, I was sent an intentional closure letter, little did I know until today that I phoned them AGAIN, that this 3-6months waiting will start from the Dec’19 payment I did not the Final payment I made in July’19

.
If I did not try and kept ringing and emailing them since my last payment in July, they wont even start processing my case! Imagine from informing them of my last payment, then this November they asked for payslips of additional income aug2018-2019july,good thing all my paperworks are filed, if not this closure process they call will not only take 3-6months but 3-6YEARS!

Hi,Lee
My advice is keep ringing them, take notes of the date time and person you spoke with, follow this up with an email, if you can do this every week do so, only then I believe they will take your case seriously.

Aperture really need to be investigated and closed down they have been getting away with shocking or non existent customer service for far too long, if they tell me that I will have to wait another 6 months from whenever I finally get my final report I will go through the roof with rage I have already wasted 12 months waiting for a bloody completion certificate due to there various cock ups!

It is just frustrating that they are not doing their job or they don’t know what they are doing! They don’t care of how us on IVA feels! They set a timeline of 3-6months from final payment, then unless we call/email them, they won’t proceed to next step! Just like me, seems like Aug-Nov went by , wasted 4 months, heard nothing from them until I kept ringing and asking for the date on when will I receive the certificate. If they did their job well, from Aug they could have asked for this additional income etc. then they would have kept within their 3-6months timeline! In my case it’s actually will be 9months or I don’t know when now

as they cannot give specific time! I was told latest is June

, where if they did their job should be this January the latest!
