IVA arrears - payment break allowed

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or if the experts can shed some light, this may be more of a vent to be honest...
A year ago, I had to take unpaid leave to keep my new job which I ended up losing in July anyway, at this time I was with vanguard and everything was fine. Vanguard gave me a payment break from April to July, which I have the official letters to confirm and that my IVA will be extended to cover the payments. Vangaurd were then taken over by ebengate, I was told my IP would stay the same and nothing would change. This is not the case, any random person from ebengate deals with my IVA and I have to chase constantly for anything, they didn’t even do a review without me asking as I needed a new phone (which they never got back to me about). All payments have been up to date since I have been back to work since August. Fast forward to now, I need a car on finance, it got declined and finance company were unsure why. Contacted ebengate to be told my account is in arrears, which is not possible. Spoke to another person about it, my payment break was never added onto ebengates system so it looks like I've missed 4 months payments. Nobody from ebengate contacted me about this, but they were quite happy to call me and up my monthly payments? Ebengate are confident the creditors will clear the arreas with no issues within a months time but I'm so worried about how this will now affect me as I can never get a clear answer but they think that's what caused the decline on finance. Could this be it? Every other check came back fine. I can reapply for finance in a months time but this has stressed me beyond belief as ebengate never seem to be proactive and actually help.
Sorry for the very long winded post, just very frustrating having your finances controlled by a company like this.
