Is my creditors meeting cancelled?

Hello,
I am in 8k worth of debt, and I was panicking about this and so rushed into agreeing to an IVA.

However after thinking about it it, I decided to cancel and just get on with my monthly payments to creditors.

I rang the insolvency group today and it took 3 attempts of talking to someone to get where I wanted and was told that I would receive a call back.
And I did, but it was Aiden Finance who called me back, which is who I got the IVA from and The insolvency Group managed it.
Cut a long story short, the associate told me that creditors have someone who works for them, another board for example, and they have sent off a notice to creditors of an IVA and an email sent saying to withdraw from the creditor's meeting but it will take 16 days to hear back from them as apparently they're not good at replying back but my meeting is in less than 16 days and when I asked if it will still go ahead he said no.

I wil ring them tomorrow as I am a little confused and I have not received an email stating that my creditors meeting is cancelled.

I just need help as it is worrying me that the meeting will go ahead because the information given was not very clear.

I suggest you tell them in writing that you do not want to go ahead with the IVA and ask them to cancel the creditors' meeting.

What other plan do you now have for dealing with your debts?

I did write an Email to The Insolvency Group as they would have been the ones at the meeting, shall I send one to Aiden Finance aswell?

And I will just pay them off as I can, I haven't defaulted on any payments.

But I just panicked after burying my head for so long and signed for an IVA when now I don't believe it's the best option for me. :D

Write to both by Royal Mail Recorded delivery --- keep copies as well as the receipt of posting. These will have to be signed for at the other end, so you will have definitive proof.

As foggy suggests notify in writing your wish to not proceed.

Addressing your debts outside of a formal process is do-able however will take commitment and focus. Debt management plan or a debt relief order, depending on your circumstances, maybe more appropriate with your level of debt which is relatively low in the big scheme of things.

Good luck
